________________________________________________________________________
When you join Alpha, you agree on following these Guild Rules, so make sure you read them carefully, it's your own responsibility to have read them. If you've got any questions, please contact an officer or higher.
Activity:
We want our members to be active players, if you are offline for more then 7 consecutive days and haven’t told any of the officers, you will be moved to a rank called Inactive which have no rights in guild bank or to receive loot in progress raids. If you know you can’t come online for a while, please let an officer know. If you have been moved to the Inactive rank and start to play again, contact one of the officers and you’ll have a talk before being moved to your normal rank again.
If you’ve been inactive for a longer period of time, 1-2 months without letting officers know, you will not be able to gain any rank higher then Member without going through the normal process to become a raider. After 3 consecutive months of being inactive without letting officers know if and when you’re coming back you will be removed from the guild, if you come back online and find yourself kicked out, contact an officer in the guild for information and if you want to come back let us know. This doesn’t mean you will have a raid spot, since we will after some time have had to replace you with a new player.
Age:
We have an age limit, our members has to be 18 years old or older, the reason is we want to keep our guild mature and fun, we believe there is a difference between being fun and being childish. We do not make exceptions from this rule, because then we’d always have to make exceptions.
Alts:
We are not an alt guild, we do allow alts which you play on frequently. Level 80 characters which you wish to raid with in our alt raids are welcome in the guild, but main characters goes before alts in all progress raids.
Behaviour:
We want our guild to be a friendly guild where our members feel welcome every day. Therefore we expect you to be friendly to each other within the guild, but also towards other players you meet. We do not accept spamming in any channels (guild channel, trade channel, general channel etc.) We will not tolerate any arguing in the guild chat, if you have a problem, solve it private in a private group or by whispering, if you need help to solve an issue you cannot solve by yourselves, ask an officer to join your group and he or she will try to help you solve the issue. The reason we don't want you to spam different channels, is that you are representing Alpha and we want to be a mature guild. To spam the trade channel is among many considered childish and annoying. We don't want others who consider joining to think our members are childish or annoying.
"Hurt not others with that which pains yourself." /From the Udanavarga 5:18, 560BC (Buddhism)
Language:
Only language allowed in guild channel and raid channel is English, the same goes for Ventrilo, therefore we want our members to be able to read and write English. When in parties it’s polite to go by the same rule, only English, some can be offended by others talking in a language they can’t understand.
Writing in any other language then English in guild-, party- or raid chat, within the guild is not acceptable and can result in being kicked out from the raid or minus DKP if in raid. Speaking in any other language then English during raid can lead to same as for when writing, speaking in another language with others present who doesn’t understand that language when or when not in raid can lead to that player being banned from ventrilo for a period of time, which means he or she can’t raid during that period of time. For how long is decided by Officers, Marshalls and Guild Master.
Raids:
Alpha is mainly a raiding guild, we do have PvP runs and instance runs, but the raids comes first. If you are only interested in PvP, maybe this isn’t the guild for you. We do help with levelling if you got an alt, but we do believe that you learn your character best by levelling them yourselves, therefore we do not boost your characters to level 80.
Raid Rules
________________________________________________________________________
Raid Leader
The raid leader is someone appointed by the Guild Master, Marshalls or Officers of Alpha. The raid leader has the final say about everything in the raid, you may discuss things, but the raid leaders makes the decisions, and is the one who selects his/hers raid assistants and choose who is going to be the master looter. If the raid leader thinks someone is not doing what they are supposed to, not following the rules or are too drunk to play, he may at any time replace that person after notice, also if someone gets disconnected he/she can replace that person after a while in order to make the raid go on. The raid leader is the one accepting players for the raid, and choose players so the group set up will work for that raid, as you surely understand we can't have a raid with only mages.
Addons:
Please use the addons required for the raids, you can read about them and which ones they are under the topic ‘Program, Addon & Links’ on the forum - “Needed addons for raiding with us!”. You may have other addons as well, but the ones required for raids, you have to have, they are required so the raids will be easier and go smoother. If you don't have the needed addons the raid leader can decide to take in someone else in your place for the raid.
Behaviour:
Same as the guild rules, be friendly, no spamming in raid channel nor general channel, we need you to be alert and listen to the raid leader so you know what you need to do, same reasons for not spamming as in the general guild rules, but spamming general channel when raiding can also be a distraction for others who are trying to read their raid chat and it can also be disturbing for other guilds who don't got a possibility to speak and explain over ventrilo or similar, also raid warnings can be disturbed.
We do not accept behaviour such as going afk every now and then during the raids without notice, it disturbs the other players, maybe the raid leader explains something and you miss it, and the rest of the raid suffer and have to wait for you, even though it might have been a wipe, you can't just go afk! Then you miss the ress or you just don't care about cr and let others ress you all the time, which annoys ppl, and the rest of the raid has to wait for buffs and such because you are not there, it takes time from the actual raiding time and it's your fault. If you need to go afk for some reason during the raid, please let the raid leader know, and he can say that everyone can take a short break now, instead of everyone running away when they feels like it.
When in Alpha your priority when it comes to raid has to be our guild raids, it's ok to raid with others when there is no raid within the guild and if it’s not a raid the guild has plans to do, but you can't go raid with others when the guild got a raid put up, and you are signed up. Leaving a guild raid for another raid is not acceptable.
Another important thing during raids is to remember to have fun.
Be on time:
It’s important that you are in time when the raid starts, the invites for the raids starts 15 minutes before the raiding time is set. The raid starts at 8pm (server time) if nothing else is said and the invites starts 7:45pm. To gain the extra DKP for being on time you need to be online on your main character (the one you raid with) when the invites starts and accept the invite when you are invited, 7:45pm. If you don't accept the first invite it's too late to gain the extra DKP. If you are not online 5 minutes after the raids starting time, the raid leader can replace you with another player that is online and prepared. If you're late you can't expect to get a place in the raid that evening, if not the replacement and the raid leader agrees on it. If you know before the raid that you're going to be late, please let the raid leader or an officer (or higher) know. If something unexpected has occurred which caused you to be late for the raid, please inform the raid leader or an officer (or higher) about it so we don't think you just didn't show up without any reason.
Drinking:
You are allowed to drink alcohol while raiding if you wish, who can stop you ;) but you need to be able to stay alert and do what is required from you, what would happen if a healer is too drunk to heal, or a tank is too drunk to tank, not good for the raid. If the raid leader notice you are too drunk to raid, you can be kicked out of the raid for the rest of the evening after the raid leader has talked to you about it, he has to think about what is best for the raid, if there is no one the replace you, he can stop the raid for that evening. It’s not fun to have expensive repair bill because of a drunken player.
Loot system:
We use DKP for our raids, for further reading click here or the link called DKP Rules at the navigation system above.
Loot system for "non progress raids":
These raids are for gearing up alts in the guild, an alt guild is always marked as one in the Group Calendar (used for signing up for raids).
Non progress raids are the raid instances which we have put behind us and are not awarding DKP for, for these raids we roll for the items.
Guild Master, Marshalls, Officers, Raiders, Class Leaders, Members and Alts:
They are the ones that rolls for items first for their main spec. Healers rolls for healing gear, tanks for tank gear etc.
Trialists and Secondary Spec:
Rolls after the ones above if no one of them needs the item.
Raid Respec
If a respec is required for the raid to be able to continue, the player who respecs will get his respec payed for by GuildBank. It is the Raidleader and no one else who ask of a player to respec, it is up to the Raidleader to choose whom to ask. The asked player can refuse to respec, but with the possibility that the raid might not be able to continue then. Only players with sufficient gear will be asked to respec. Note that the respec is only for that specific raid in question. If you wish to change Main Spec, you can read more about those rules below.
When change of Main Spec
You are invited to the guild as one spec, if you're a class that can be for example both healer and tank, and you're invited as a healer but after a while wants to change to tank spec, you need to notify officers. If you change your main spec we can't guarantee a raiding spot for you in your new spec, and you need to attend 3 raids with your new spec before you may roll as first spec with the new spec you got.
Dual Spec
You are invited to the guild as one spec, your main spec, which is also the spec we expect you to come with to the raids. We will always take in players with their main char and their main spec before considering someone to respect or taking an alt for the raid to be able to continue, if you got a dual spec where the second one is for example healer spec and you’ve got sufficient gear for that spec, and a healer is needed for the raid to continue but your main-spec is not as needed, then RL can ask you to use your second spec instead. Don’t count on being able to come with your secondary spec to raids, instead, sign up with that spec for alt runs.

When a boe item drops it gets put in to the guild bank, and handed out on a later occasion to someone within the guild who needs it, if it is a pattern, design, recipe that crafts a boe item it gets put in the guild bank and handed out to someone in the guild who has been a member for a long time, is very active, and is trusted by the guild leaders, so that it can benefit the whole guild and we got that person to craft the item. If it's a pattern that is boe but crafts a bop item, it's taken to the guild bank and handed out to someone in the guild for whom the item is an upgrade comparing to the current gear that player got. Those pattern doesn't get handed out to trialists.

If no one in the guild needs the item it gets disenchanted and put in the Guild Bank
Preparation:
Be prepared before you go to a raid, be repaired, bring what potions, elixirs, flasks, buff food, oils, regents, shoots and other things you need with you, bring enough so it will last for the whole raid including possible wipes, a healer without mana pots in a long boss fight is of no use. You also need to be prepared for what happens in the boss fight, what your class or spec needs to do, before new encounters tactics and or links to tactics and video's explaining the fight is posted at the forum under the Raid part. (If you are not prepared when the raid starts, the raid leader can choose to take in another player instead of you, such things are always discussed between RL and RL assistant and Officers first.) You also need to be logged in to ventrilo before the raid starts, and be online on the character you are to raid with.
Ventrilo:
During the raids the tactics are made over ventrilo, therefore one demand for raiding with us is that you have to be able to listen to ventrilo, you do not need to speak yourself, even though it’s fun if you do.
When on ventrilo, when the raid leader and the raid officers are speaking on ventrilo, we need you to be quiet, ask your questions afterwards. It’s easier to hear what is said if everybody don’t speak at the same time.
The language spoken on ventrilo is English, so you need to be able to understand spoken English or you won’t be able to raid with us.
Since our members are from different parts of the world (mostly Europe) the only allowed language on ventrilo is English so everyone will understand each other and also because it’s rude to talk in a language everyone present can’t understand, they can feel hurt and wonder if you are saying something bad about them since they are not allowed to understand if it’s not in English.
Due to this you are not allowed to speak in any other language then English when there are others present who might not understand an other language you wish to speak in. Speaking in another language during raid and if you do not stop after told to, can lead to minus DKP. Repeatedly talking in another language then English both when raid and when it’s not raid with other players presents can in worst case lead to rights to log on to the ventrilo server being removed for some time, how much decided by officers. This means you won’t be able to raid either for that period of time.
Guild Bank Rules
________________________________________________________________________
We have 6 guild bank tabs, which all are open for the rank Member and higher to look in, how much you can take out depends on your rank.
1. Only put things in the guild bank which are useful for other members.
(A green level 20 item is not of use to other members and therefore don’t belong in the guild bank. No PreBC items) If you are not sure if an item belongs in the guild bank or not, ask an officer or higher before putting it there.
2. If you take something out the Guild bank it’s for you and you only. The guild bank is mainly for your main char, unless you are raiding with both your main char and your alt.
3. If the guild master or the marshals don’t find any need of an item put in the guild bank the item will be sold and the gold for it will go to the guild bank.
4. Try to use your professions for the guild, items usable for raids may be put in the guild bank.
5. Don't take items out to sell them.
6. If the item that you wish to take is valuable please ask the officers or higher first.
7. If you need rep items or other items that are stackable, don’t take the whole stack, there are probably others who need the items too and the guild bank doesn’t have enough rep items to level everybody’s rep. Like if you need
Mark of Sargeras don’t take the whole 200 stack! If you need much of an item, ask officers or higher first.
8. Don't take anything you don't need.
9. The gold that comes in the guild bank will be used for recipes that are usable the raids, and given to the ones in the guild that can use them, and is an active member who has been so for a while and helps the guild.
10. Try to make a contribution; if it’s good for the guild, it’s good for you.
Social Rank
________________________________________________________________________
The name explains it self mostly with some extra features.
Players that do not have time to play as they used to have a chance to still be in the guild as a social rank instead of being put down to inactive rank and then kicked.
Joining Alpha
You will start as trialist but with a note: Social Rank, because of guildbank security and for you and us to see who you are and if you suit Alpha and its members. :)
Raids:
You will still have to active but not in raids. Social rank do not have priority over loot or raid spots, they simply are here for the social side of the guild and can be taken into raids if needed and if they want or have the opportunity.
Guildbank:
They do not have the same privilege in guild bank as the other ranks but seeing that our focus is raiding and the stuff that are in the guild bank is for raiding purpose we don't see the need that they should be able to take out item as much in comparison to a normal member. They still have access to it and will still be able to donate and take out a few item's each day.
Active:
As written above, you will still need to active but not as a normal member which actually need to active within the guild and raids to have a raid spot.
Loot rules:
You will be on same priority as second spec & trialist, because we do have use of second spec raiders for some of our progress raids, social rank is in this guild for the social side of the guild and not for loot.
If you are demoted to Social rank your DKP will be reset and need to pass trial again to earn full DKP from raids.
Raid spot:
If you are available for a raid you can sign up for a raid, the raidleader will choose the normal members above the social rank, because they have priority to get gear for our progress raids. As written above, you are here for the social side, not loot.
Promotion to normal member:
You will need to approach a officer about this matter, if a spot appears into our raid team and if you are available to raid our raid days and times also have the gear for it you will have priority above getting that spot instead of us searching for new members. This will only be available if we need you class for our raid team. You will also need to go through a normal trial period to be accepted as a fully member.

Officers and higher got final say in any disagreement that may occur if we think it's necessary to intervene for the best interest of the guild.
The crew of Alpha (Guild Master, Marshalls, Officers) reserves the right to at any time change the guild rules to what they think is the best for the guild and it's progress. It's every players own responsibility to read new information, check the web page, and to be sure to check guild rules frequently for updates and changes.
